Every window is a lens onto the world – and a place where one’s own identity is mirrored.
In “Gesicht aus Fenster,” the composition creates a fascinating state of suspension between architecture, figure, and pure color. On a calm, skin-toned beige ground, an energetic center of rust red, ocher, turquoise, and luminous white condenses in the middle of the picture. The work explores the field of tension between gazes, sheltered spaces, and perception. It poses the question: Are we looking from outside into a stranger’s life, or is a soul gazing out protectively from within the walls of its own thoughts?
